I’ve come to realize I’m not like most people. The way I think, what I believe, and my values. Some are just focused on when they can get their next high, their tests coming up, friends and boy problems. Then there’s me. Who isn’t worried about really any of those. What goes on in my head is the slightest bit different. What sucks is when I try to talk about it or explain. Others don’t understand and are quick to judge and call names. Not normally would it bug me, but for some reason this time it did. It’s the constant you’re weird, fucked, messed up, what the hell are you thinkings and the never ending name calling that makes it worse. Usually it means nothing to me, I don’t even stress it. But now I’m realizing the intricate difference of thought process I have compared to others. My values and thoughts aren’t normal so I’ve been influenced. These influences from others and thoughts of us “weird” and supposed “fucked up” people are what makes us different? How would you like it if we started judging and calling you names because you don’t think how we do? Yeah exactly, you’d feel like shit. Most of us are just trying to cope with life, we ALL ARE. Just because we aren’t the exact same as you, doesn’t mean we’re fucked up. Our generation is what’s fucked up. The fact that kids with these thoughts are made to believe that we are so different that we can’t belong is ridiculous, and unfair. The sad part is, I feel most people really don’t know the REAL me because of this. I refrain from telling people half my feelings because they’d never understand. I know that sounds close-minded on my part.. But it’s true to an extent. Yes, I am fond of the saying “you never know unless you try.” And me myself am a true believer in it, but because my thought process is so different, they get either the wrong impression, or just shut me out and call me strange. What’s even crazier is the fact that yes, some people I go to school with will read this and be quick to judge and tell people to read it.. Just because they are being judgemental and unaccepting again. These people are the ones who lead adolescents these days to feel lonely, and unwanted. These bullies are the ones that are the reason for the percentage every year of teenagers to commit suicide and self harm each and every year. These are the people that are the problem. They are the ones who don’t understand and are quick to judge. Anyone I go to school who will read it will automatically think I have issues and to go tell someone, that’s just the way society is now though. It’s terrible, kids should not be lead to feel this way because of the way you think and feel. You’re you, that’s all you’ve ever been, and to one day be told that’s all a lie and isn’t okay.. I’m sorry what? No. We have grown up being told that originality and individuality is a trait to keep and maintain. Why all of a sudden is that thrown out the window? Your uniqueness is all you have. It’s what makes you, you. And if that’s not good enough for people, then I really don’t know what is.
